After a six-week losing streak, the benchmark index has gained over 200 points so far ahead of today’s weekly options expiry. Earnings season for the June quarter will reach its conclusion today with the last few companies reporting results.
Even as the Nifty 50 index ended higher on Wednesday, the 24,700 mark, which was Tuesday’s high, continues to remain a barrier for the index. That will remain the first key level on the upside to watch before the 20-DMA. To report a weekly gain, the Nifty will have to close above 24,363.
We will see earnings reactions from some broader market names like Muthoot Finance, Vishal Mega Mart, Jubilant Foodworks, BPCL, IRCTC, Brigade Enterprises and others. Vodafone Idea, Inox Wind, Indian Oil Corporation, Ashok Leyland, Glenmark Pharma, are some of the stocks that will be rounding off the earnings season by reporting numbers later in the day.
