Major Indexes in Negative Territory for the Month

Major stock indexes, which had their worst day of the year on Friday, started the final week of February in negative territory for the month.

Through Friday’s close, the Dow was down 2.5% so far this month, while the S&P 500 and Nasdaq were off 0.5%.

The Dow and S&P 500 posted gains in January after losing ground the month before, while the Nasdaq was riding a three-month winning streak coming into February.

Nvidia Price Levels to Watch With Earnings Coming Wednesday

Nvidia (NVDA) shares gained ground in premarket trading Monday as AI favorite gears up to release its highly anticipated earnings report after Wednesday’s closing bell.

The chipmaking giant, which has a track record of blowing past Wall Street expectations amid insatiable demand for its lineup of AI silicon, is projected to report a 73% jump in fourth-quarter revenue from a year earlier and post net income of $21.08 billion, up from $12.84 billion.

Through Friday’s close, Nvidia shares were roughly unchanged since the start of 2025, but they’d gained 12% for the month, with analysts remaining widely bullish on the chipmaker’s stock as big tech hyperscalers continue to ramp up spending on AI infrastructure. 

Nvidia shares have consolidated in a descending channel since mid-December, with trading volumes declining over that period. More recently, a bearish engulfing pattern formed on the chart Friday, signaling a potential move lower ahead of the chipmaker’s results.

Investors should watch crucial support levels on Nvidia’s chart around $130, $113, and $102, while also monitoring key resistance levels near $153 and $174.

Nvidia shares were up 1.8% at around $137 in recent premarket trading, after falling more than 4% on Friday.
